Sensex down 427pts; 95% stocks still in red

The Sensex is now down 427 points at 9330.

HLL has plunged over 9% to Rs 200. Grasim has slumped 8.4% to Rs 1,501, and Reliance Energy has shed 7.8% to Rs 372.

Tata Power, Tata Steel and Reliance have tumbled over 5.5% each to Rs 436, Rs 435 and Rs 842, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's, Bajaj Auto, HDFC and TCS are the other prominent losers.

Nearly 95% of the traded stocks on the BSE are in the negative zone. Out of a total of 2,179 stocks traded so far, 2,064 have declined, 95 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
