Sensex down 43pts; Hindalco, Reddy's slip2%

The Sensex touched a low of 12,398 - down 147 points from the day's high of 12,545. The index is now down 43 points at 12,419.

Bajaj Auto has gained nearly 2% at Rs 3,185. Reliance Energy has surged over 1% to Rs 631, and Satyam is up 1% at Rs 790.

Hindalco and Dr.Reddy's have declined 2% each to Rs 224 and Rs 1,648, respectively.

ITC has dropped 1.5% to Rs 205. Bharti Tele is down 1.3% at Rs 416.

BHEL and Tata Steel have slipped over 1% each to Rs 2,377 and Rs 637, respectively.

The market breadth has turned slightly negative. Out of 2,329 stocks traded so far, 1,104 have advanced, 1,177 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
