The Sensex continues to slip deeper into red and is now down 446 points at 17,552. Reliance Energy has tumbled over 11% to Rs 1,412. BHEL has slumped 7.7% to Rs 2,014. Maruti and Bharti Airtel have plunged 6.5% each to Rs 1,073 and Rs 953, respectively. ACC has shed 5.5% to Rs 979, and ICICI Bank has dropped 3.7% to Rs 1,000. Hindalco, HDFC, Ambuja Cements and Larsen & Toubro have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 180, Rs 2,363, Rs 140 and Rs 3,044, respectively. Reliance, Wipro, Tata Steel and TCS are down around 3% each at Rs 2,497, Rs 482, Rs 812 and Rs 1,088, respectively. Reliance Communications has gained 2.3% at Rs 728, and Infosys has added 1% to Rs 1,910. Out of 2,539 stocks traded so far, 1,996 have declined, 499 have advanced and 44 are unchanged. |
