Sensex down 459pts; Tata Steel drops 5%

The Sensex has slipped deeper into red and is now down 459 points at 19,792.

The NSE Nifty has shed 166 points at 5,908.

Reliance Communications and HDFC Bank have tumbled nearly 6% each to Rs 732 and Rs 1,682, respectively.

Tata Steel and Hindalco have plunged nearly 5% each to Rs 811 and Rs 188, respectively. NTPC has shed 4.5% at Rs 262.

BHEL and DLF have slipped 4.3% each to Rs 2,312 and Rs 1,126, respectively.

Tata Motors and Reliance Energy have dropped 4% each to Rs 737 and Rs 2,268, respectively.

Maruti has declined 3.5% to Rs 837. ITC, HDFC and Reliance are down around 3% each to Rs 209, Rs 2,811 and Rs 3,067, respectively.

TCS has advanced 1.6% to Rs 953.
