Sensex down 45pts; Satyam spurts 2%

The Sensex now down 45 points at 11,870.

Satyam has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 788. HDFC Bank, Cipla and ICICI Bank have spurted over 1% each to Rs 832, Rs 263 and Rs 575, respectively.

Tata Power has dropped 1.6% to Rs 563. Hindalco, Bajaj Auto and NTPC have slipped 1.2% each to Rs 209, Rs 2,894 and Rs 133, respectively.

ONGC, Grasim, Infosys, HDFC and Tata Steel have declined 1% each.

Godawari Power & Ispat listed today at Rs 90.25 as against the issue price of Rs 81. The stock is currently trading at the day's high of Rs 130, and around 25.28 lakh shares have changed hands at the counter.
