Sensex down 471pts; Bharti soars 5%

The Sensex is now down 471 points at 19,505.

ONGC and ICICI Bank have slumped 5% each to Rs 1,295 and Rs 1,264, respectively.

Infosys and HDFC Bank have plunged 3.3% each to Rs 1,844 and Rs 1,701, respectively.

Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro, ITC, ACC and Maruti have slipped around 2% each to Rs 738, Rs 4,374, Rs 172, Rs 1,013 and Rs 1,002, respectively.

HDFC, Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim have shed 1.8% each to Rs 2,605, Rs 742 and Rs 3,680, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has surged 4.7% to Rs 937. NTPC has moved up 1.7% to Rs 239, and Cipla has added 1.4% at Rs 176.

Out of 2,779 stocks traded so far, 1,472 have advanced, 1,241 have declined and 66 are unchanged.
