Sensex down 472pts; BHEL drops 10%

The Sensex is now down 472 points at 15,504.

The NSE Nifty is down 112 points at 4,659.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has slumped 12% to Rs 2,627.

BHEL has plunged 9.7% to Rs 1,830, and Reliance Energy has tumbled 8.3% to Rs 1,165.

ICICI Bank has shed 5.7% at Rs 842. DLF and Reliance Communications have slipped 4.3% each to Rs 629 and Rs 520, respectively.

HDFC Bank and NTPC have dropped 4% each to Rs 1,233 and Rs 177, respectively.

Bajaj Auto and Hindalco are down 3.8% each at Rs 1,817 and Rs 189, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 1.5% to Rs 761. Bhati Airtel has gained 1.3% at Rs 761, and ONGC has added 1% to Rs 965.
