Sensex down 472pts; Rel Energy slumps 6%

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 330 points at 16,211. The index is now down 472 points at 16,070.

The NSE Nifty is down 129 points at 4,793.

Reliance Energy has slumped 6% to Rs 1,371. ICICI Bank and Satyam have tumbled over 4% each to Rs 919 and Rs 416, respectively.

DLF has shed 3.8% at Rs 656. Hindalco and Reliance Communications have dropped 3.3% each to Rs 201 and Rs 511, respectively.

Infosys, Maruti, Larsen & Toubro and HDFC Bank are down 3% each at Rs 1,430, Rs 912, Rs 3,107 and Rs 1,298, respectively.
