Sensex down 47pts; HUL, Tata Steel up 2%

The Sensex is now down 47 points at 17,571.

The NSE Nifty is down eight points at 5,146.

Satyam has zoomed over 8% to Rs 458. Wipro has soared 5% to Rs 432, and TCS has surged 3.5% to Rs 915. Infosys has rallied nearly 3% to Rs 1,613.

Hindalco has gained 3% at Rs 182. Hindustan Unilever and Tata Steel have advanced 2% each to Rs 218 and Rs 788, respectively.

HDFC has plunged 4% to Rs 2,643. ICICI Bank has tumbled 3.5% at Rs 1,126.

SBI has shed almost 3% at Rs 2,142, and BHEL has dropped 2.5% to Rs 2,070.

HDFC Bank has declined 2% to Rs 1,505. Maruti is down 1.5% at Rs 757.

Out of 2,731 stocks traded so far, 1,454 have declined, 1,207 have advanced and 70 are unchanged.
