Sensex down 482pts; Infosys down 6%

The Sensex is now down 482 points at 18,181.

The NSE Nifty is down 149 points at 5,335.

Infosys has tumbled over 6% to Rs 1,513. Satyam has slumped 5.5% to Rs 414. TCS and Wipro have plunged around 5% each to Rs 902 and Rs 432, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has slipped nearly 5% to Rs 891. Hindalco has shed 4.5% at Rs 174.

Maruti has dropped over 4% to Rs 837. DLF, ONGC, Tata Motors and Grasim have declined around 3% each to Rs 862, Rs 1,041, Rs 733 and Rs 2,891, respectively.

Out of 2,779 stocks traded so far, 1,531 have declined, 1,205 have advanced and 43 are unchanged.
