Sensex down 48pts; Bharti drops 5%

The Sensex is now down 48 points at 17,512.

Ambuja Cements and Reliance Energy have soared around 4% each to Rs 145 and Rs 1,385, respectively.

ICICI Bank has rallied 2.7% to Rs 1,051, and ACC has gained 2% at Rs 1,012.

ONGC has moved up 1.5% to Rs 1,125. ITC has advanced 1.3% to Rs 177, and Hindalco has added 1% to Rs 176.

Bharti Airtel has plunged over 5% to Rs 917, and HDFC has slumped nearly 3% to Rs 2,330.

Satyam has shed 2.5% to Rs 448. TCS and Infosys have dropped 2% each to Rs 1,083 and Rs 1,871, respectively.

Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Wipro, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance are the other major losers.
