The Sensex opened 50 points higher at 15,153. Freak trade  in Reliance pulled the index into the negative zone.

The index tried to recover but didnot manage and kept on slipping further.

Brisk selling in the realty and the metal stocks dragged the index further in to the red.

However IT stocks bucked the trend.

The index slipped to a low of 14,604 and finally ended (provisional) at 14,611, down 492 points.
