Sensex down 49pts at 11,981

The Sensex is now down 49 points at 11,981.

Larsen & Toubro has surged nearly 2% to Rs 2,754. ONGC has gained over 1% at Rs 1,355.

HLL, ITC and Hindalco have advanced 1% each at Rs 288, Rs 202 and Rs 213, respectively.

HDFC Bank has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 818. ICICI Bank has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 574.

Satyam has tumbled over 3% to Rs 781. Wipro has shed 2.7% to Rs 534. Infosys has declined over 2% to Rs 3,224.
