Sensex down 49pts; ITC, Hind Unilever up 2%

The Sensex is now down 49 points at 16,038.

The NSE Nifty is has rebouned into the positive zone and is now up seven points at 4,836.

Satyam has plunged over 4% to Rs 396, and Tata Motors has dropped 3.5% to Rs 655.

TCS has tumbled 3% to Rs 853. Larsen & Toubro has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 2,988.

Infosys and Ranbaxy have shed 1.7% each at Rs 1,472 and Rs 441, respectively.

Reliance, Maruti and ICICI Bank are down over 1% each at Rs 2,270, Rs 835 and Rs 835, respectively.

Hindalco has surged 5.5% to Rs 171. Jaiprakash Associates has rallied 2.7% to Rs 232.

ITC, Hindustan Unilever and Cipla have advanced around 2% each to Rs 199, Rs 239 and Rs 209, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Ambuja Cements have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 534 and Rs 124, respectively.

DLF, BHEL and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 666, Rs 1,978 and Rs 1,458, respectively.

Out of 2,712 stocks traded so far, 1,523 have advanced, 1,125 have declined and 64 are unchanged.
