Sensex down 509pts; ONGC, NTPC drag

The Sensex is now down 509 points at 19,522.

ONGC and NTPC have slumped 5.3% each to Rs 1,173 and Rs 234, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Hindalco have plunged 4.7% each to Rs 907 and Rs 203, respectively. DLF has tumbled over 4% to Rs 978.

Reliance Communications and Tata Motors have shed 3.7% each to Rs 731 and Rs 717, respectively. HDFC and BHEL have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 2,950 and Rs 2,475, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Reliance are down 3% each at Rs 1,677 and Rs 2,806, respectively.

Out of 2,927 stocks traded so far, 1,685 have advanced, 1,220 have declined and 22 are unchanged.
