Sensex down 50pts; tech stocks gain

The Sensex has now declined 50 points to 10,074.

Technology stocks are in demand. Wipro has rallied 2% to Rs 500. TCS has spurted 1.4% to Rs 1,646, and Satyam is up 1% at Rs 750.

Bajaj Auto has gained 1.8% at Rs 2,416. Bharti Tele is up 1% at Rs 366.

Grasim has shed 2.8% to Rs 1,650. Larsen & Toubro has slipped 2.2% to Rs 2,294.

ITC, HLL and Hindalco have declined 2% each to Rs 163, Rs 233 and Rs 157, respectively.

HDFC, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank are Cipla continue to languish at lower levels.

The market breadth continues to remain negative - out of 2,471 stocks traded so far, 1,565 have declined, 828 have advanced and 78 are unchanged.
