Sensex down 511pts; tech stocks drag

The Sensex is now down 511 points at 15,860.

The NSE Nifty is down 141 points at 4,801.

Infosys has slumped 6.7% to Rs 1,424. TCS has tumbled nearly 6% to Rs 819, and Satyam has dropped over 4% to Rs 392. Wipro has shed 3.3% at Rs 439.

HDFC Bank has plunged 5.5% to Rs 1,322, and ICICI Bank has slipped 5% to Rs 793.

Grasim has dropped 4.8% to Rs 2,576. Larsen & Toubro has shed 4% at Rs 3,022.

BHEL, HDFC and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped around 3.5% each to Rs 2,018, Rs 2,525 and Rs 232, respectively.

Tata Steel, DLF and SBI have declined around 3% each to Rs 695, Rs 675 and Rs 1,630, respectively.

Reliance Communications is down 2.8% at Rs 521.

Cipla has moved up 1.7% to Rs 221, and ITC is up over 1% at Rs 209.

Out of 2,476 stocks traded so far, 1,488 have advanced, 945 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
