Sensex down 52pts; tech stocks firm

The Sensex is now down 52 points at 12,886.

Satyam has soared over 4% to Rs 430. Wipro, HDFC Bank and TCS have surged over 3% each to Rs 579, Rs 962 and Rs 1,224, respectively.

Maruti has rallied 2% to Rs 857. Infosys has advanced 1.6% to Rs 2,111, and Reliance Communications has moved up 1.3% to Rs 413.

Tata Motors and Ranbaxy are up 1% each at Rs 793 and Rs 341, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has plunged 7% to Rs 108. Graism has shed 4.4% to Rs 2,115, and ACC has dropped 4% to Rs 864.

Dr.Reddy's has slumped 4% to Rs 651. Reliance Energy, Hindalco and BHEL were down around 2.5% each to Rs 467, Rs 136 and Rs 2,121, respectively.

Hero Honda, Reliance and Bajaj Auto are down around 2% each to Rs 661, Rs 1,329 and Rs 2,569, respectively.

Out of 2,270 stocks traded so far, 1,515 have declined, 704 have advanced and 51 are unchanged.
