The Sensex is now down 530 points at 18,133. The NSE Nifty is down 163 points at 5,321. All index stocks are still in negative zone with losses in excess of 1% each. Infosys and Bharti Airtel have slumped over 5% each to Rs 1,530 and Rs 889, respectively. Wipro and Satyam have plunged nearly 5% each to Rs 432 and Rs 417, respectively. Hindalco has tumbled over 4% to Rs 174. TCS, Tata Motors and Ranbaxy have dropped around 3.7% each to Rs 913, Rs 727 and Rs 373, respectively. DLF and Maruti have slipped 3.4% each to Rs 860 and Rs 843, respectively. ITC, ONGC and Tata Steel have declined nearly 3% each to Rs 200, Rs 1,043 and Rs 794, respectively. Reliance and Bajaj Auto have shed 2.7% each at Rs 2,545 and Rs 2,340, respectively. ICICI Bank, HDFC, Grasim, Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC and Reliance Energy are down around 2.5% each. The market breadth is negative - out of 2,515 stocks traded so far, 1,471 have declined, 1,002 have advanced and 42 are unchanged. |
