Reliance Energy, Tata Steel and HDFC Bank have plunged over 5% each to Rs 758, Rs 667 and Rs 1,156, respectively.

HDFC, Hindalco and Larsen & Toubro have shed 4.8% each to Rs 1,924, Rs 174 and Rs 2,422, respectively.

Satyam and SBI have slipped 4.5% each to Rs 472 and Rs 1,480, respectively.

Tata Motors and Reliance have dropped around 4% each to Rs 701 and Rs 1,866, respectively.

ONGC, NTPC and Hindustan Unilever are down 3.5% each at Rs 913, Rs 162 and Rs 198, respectively.

ITC has moved up 1.6% to Rs 169.

Out of 2,416 stocks traded so far, 1,984 have declined, 391 have advanced and 41 are unchanged.
