Sensex down 533pts; Maruti, ONGC down 4%

The Sensex is now down 533 points at 18,130.

The NSE Nifty is down 164 points at 5,320.

Infosys has slumped 6.3% to Rs 1,509. Wipro, Bharti Airtel and TCS have plunged around 5.5% each to Rs 429, Rs 884 and Rs 898, respectively.

Satyam and Hindalco have tumbled around 5% each to Rs 415 and Rs 173, respectively.

Maruti and ONGC have slipped over 4% each to Rs 835 and Rs 1,031, respectively.

Ranbaxy, DLF and Tata Motors have dropped 3.8% each to Rs 373, Rs 856 and Rs 727, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Grasim have shed 3% each at Rs 1,154 and Rs 2,890, respectively.

NTPC and ITC have declined 2.8% each to Rs 217 and Rs 200, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Reliance and BHEL are down around 2.5% each at Rs 2,343, Rs 2,551 and Rs 2,036, respectively.

HDFC, SBI and Larsen & Toubro have dropped over 2% each to Rs 3,001, Rs 2,179 and Rs 3,775, respectively.

Out of 2,762 stocks traded so far, 1,659 have declined, 1,054 have advanced and 49 are unchanged.
