Sensex down 53pts; market breadth positive

The Sensex is now down 53 points at 12,313.

TCS has dropped 2.5% to Rs 989. BHEL and HDFC Bank have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 2,328 and Rs 905, respectively.

Hindalco has shed 1.5% to Rs 169. Dr.Reddy's and HDFC have declined 1.3% each to Rs 717 and Rs 1,459, respectively.

Wipro, NTPC and ACC are down over 1% each at Rs 514, Rs 132 and Rs 981, respectively.

Reliance Energy has gained 1.7% at Rs 495. Tata Motors has advanced over 1% to Rs 880.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,195 stocks traded so far, 1,155 have advanced, 961 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
