Sensex down 54pts; Bajaj Auto up 2%

The Sensex slipped to a low of 12,407, and is now down 54 points at 12,409.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 2% to Rs 3,190. Satyam and Reliance Energy are up 1% each at Rs 792 and Rs 630, respectively.

Hindalco has shed 2% to Rs 225. Dr.Reddy's has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,658.

Bharti Tele and ITC are down 1.3% each at Rs 416 and Rs 205, respectively.

Out of 2,249 stocks traded so far, 1,218 have advanced, 985 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
