Sensex down 54pts, Wipro, TCS slip

The Sensex is now down 54 points at 9831.

Larsen & Toubro has shed 3.6% to Rs 2,038.

Wipro has slipped 2% to Rs 432, and TCS has dropped 1.7% to Rs 1,659.

SBI and Gujarat Ambuja are down 1.5% each at Rs 756 and Rs 90, respectively.

Hindalco has spurted 1% to Rs 158. Tata Motors, Maruti and Reliance are the other prominent gainers among the Sensex stocks.
