Sensex down 55pts; BHEL, SBI up 1%

The Sensex is now down 55 points at 12,873.

Satyam has rallied 2% to Rs 445. BHEL and SBI have spurted over 1% each to Rs 2,442 and Rs 1,037, respectively.

HDFC has slipped over 2% to Rs 1,513. Grasim and HLL have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 2,619 and Rs 233, respectively.

Infosys has declined 1.3% to Rs 2,070. NTPC, Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Communications are down around 1% each.

Out of 2,314 stocks traded so far, 1,390 have declined, 840 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
