Sensex down 562pts; Reliance sheds 4%

The Sensex is now down 562 points at 14,439.

All index stocks continue to languish in the negative zone.

Tata Steel has slumped over 7% to Rs 596. ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have plunged around 5.5% each to Rs 831 and Rs 811, respectively.

SBI, Reliance Communications, Reliance and BHEL have tumbled around 4.3% each to Rs 1,545, Rs 502, Rs 1,754 and Rs 1,616, respectively.

HDFC Bank has shed 4% to Rs 1,101. ONGC, Larsen & Toubro and Hindalco have slipped 3.7% each to Rs 822, Rs 2,330 and Rs 148, respectively.

Grasim, Reliance Energy and Tata Motors have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 2,777, Rs 728 and Rs 668, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Maruti and Cipla are down around 3% each to Rs 2,310, Rs 797 and Rs 185, respectively.

Out of 2,543 stocks traded so far, 1,582 have declined, 906 have advanced and 55 are unchanged.
