Sensex down 567pts; Infosys drops 6%

The Sensex is now down 567 points at 18,096.

The NSE Nifty is down 173 points at 5,310.

Infosys has slumped over 6% to Rs 1,512. TCS, Bharti Airtel and Satyam have plunged around 5.5% each to Rs 897, Rs 884 and Rs 415, respectively.

Wipro and Hindalco have tumbled over 5% each to Rs 431 and Rs 173, respectively. Maruti has shed 4.5% at Rs 833.

ONGC, Tata Motors and DLF have slipped around 4% each to Rs 1,029, Rs 724 and Rs 855, respectively.

Ranbaxy has dropped 3.8% to Rs 373. NTPC, Grasim and ICICI Bank have declined over 3% each to Rs 216, Rs 2,885 and Rs 1,153, respectively.

ITC is down nearly 3% at Rs 200.

Out of 2,716 stocks traded so far, 1,725 have declined, 948 have advanced and 43 are unchanged.
