Sensex down 58pts; breadth still positive

The Sensex is now down 58 points at 11,972.

ONGC has gained nearly 2% at Rs 1,365. Larsen & Toubro has moved up 1.4% to Rs 2,744, and Tata Steel has added 1.3% to Rs 663.

HDFC Bank has dropped 3.4% to Rs 821. ICICI Bank has slipped 2% to Rs 579. SBI is down over 1% at Rs 910.

Satyam and Wipro have tumbled 3% each to Rs 785 and Rs 532, respectively. While Infosys has slipped 1.3% to Rs 3,253, TCS is down 1% at Rs 1,973.

Tata Power, NTPC and Bajaj Auto are the other prominent losers among the Sensex stocks.

The market breadth continues to remain positive. Out of 2,451 stocks traded so far, 1,444 have moved up, 942 have declined and 65 are unchanged.
