Sensex down 5pts; Satyam, NTPC firm

The Sensex is now down five points at 14,530.

Satyam has surged over 2% to Rs 473. NTPC has moved up 1.5% to Rs 162.

Reliance Communications, Larsen & Toubro and Infosys are up 1% each at Rs 516, Rs 1,965 and Rs 1,961, respectively.

Tata Motors has dropped over 2% to Rs 695, and HDFC has shed 1.7% to Rs 1,865.

HDFC Bank has slipped over 1% to Rs 1,145. ONGC and Maruti are the other notable losers.

Out of 2,322 stocks traded so far, 1,315 have advanced, 928 have declined and 79 are unchanged.
