After moving in a positive, narrow range since mid-morning trades, the market has eased in current trades following extended weakness in select tech, heavyweights and auto stocks. The Sensex is now down six points at 7,341, while the Nifty is stll holding on to gains at 2,240 - up three points. Infosys and TCS have lost a per cent each to Rs 2,234 (down Rs 24) and Rs 1,309 (down Rs 8), respectively. While Satyam is up 1.26% (Rs 6) at Rs 504, Wipro is marginally up at Rs 717. ITC has dropped 1.41% (Rs 24) to Rs 1,672. While Reliance has gained 1.90% (Rs 13) to Rs 677, ONGC is up with steady gains at Rs 919. HDFC has tumbled 2.20% (Rs 20) to Rs 880, and Bharti has shed 2.12% (Rs 5) to Rs 249. Hero Honda has scaled down 3.20% (Rs 20) to Rs 615, and Tata Motors has declined 1.34% (Rs 6) to Rs 470. Grasim, however, has added 2.71% (Rs 31) to Rs 1,171. Other cement stocks are still exhibiting mixed trend. BHEL has moved up 1.94% (Rs 18) to Rs 939. |
