Sensex down 60pts; Satyam, Wipro slip 5%

The Sensex rebounded into the positive zone and touched a high of 10,387. The index is now down 60 points at 10,278.

Satyam and Wipro have slumped around 5% each to Rs 285 and Rs 263, respectively.

Tata Motors and Sterlite have tumbled around 4.5% each to Rs 182 and Rs 282, respectively. ACC has plunged over 4% to Rs 490.

Infosys and TCS have slipped 3.5% each to Rs 1,330 and Rs 530, respectively.

HDFC has dropped over 3% to Rs 1,832. Reliance Infrastructure, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance are down around 2% each at Rs 523, Rs 376 and Rs 1,409, respectively.

 

ONGC and Ranbaxy have soard 6.5% each to Rs 757 and Rs 203, respectively.

Tata Power has surged nearly 4% to Rs 720. SBI, Reliance Communications and ICICI Bank have rallied nearly 3% each to Rs 1,276, Rs 239 and Rs 443, respectively.

ITC has gained 2.5% at Rs 162. Jaiprakash Associates and BHEL are up 1.8% each at Rs 83 and Rs 1,365, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,336 stocks traded so far, 1,379 have advanced, 889 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
