Sensex down 61pts; HDFC Bank drops 2%

The Sensex is now down 61 points at 12,867.

NTPC has dropped 2.5% to Rs 128. HDFC Bank, HLL and Grasim have shed 2.3% each to Rs 1,022, Rs 232 and Rs 2,160, respectively.

HDFC has declined 2% to Rs 1,516. Infosys, Larsen & Toubro and Gujarat Ambuja are down 1.5% each at Rs 2,067, Rs 1,288 and Rs 120, respectively.

Satyam has surged 2.7% to Rs 448. BHEL has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 2,460.

Out of 2,469 stocks traded so far, 1,663 have declined, 773 have advanced and 63 are unchanged.
