Sensex down 62pts; HDFC slips 3%

The Sensex is now down 62 points at 11,440.

HDFC has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 1,281. Bajaj Auto and Cipla have shed 2% each to Rs 2,695 and Rs 247, respectively.

ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti and Ranbaxy have declined over 1% each to Rs 179, Rs 2,361, Rs 828 and Rs 388, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ACC and HLL are the other prominent losers.

NTPC has gained 1% at Rs 124.

Out of 2,525 stocks traded so far, 1,453 have declined, 1,007 have advanced and 65 are unchanged.
