Sensex down 62pts; Hindalco surges 2%

The Sensex is now down 62 points at 14,473.

Tata Motors has shed 2.7% to Rs 692. HDFC has shed 2% to Rs 1,858.

ONGC, Tata Steel and HDFC Bank have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 880, Rs 631 and Rs 1,143, respectively.

ACC and BHEL have dropped 1.3% each to Rs 825 and Rs 1,365, respectively.

ITC, Reliance and ICICI Bank are down around 1% each at Rs 160, Rs 1,728 and Rs 931, respectively.

Hindalco has surged over 2% to Rs 149. Satyam and Reliance Communications have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 471 and Rs 519, respectively.

Wipro, NTPC, Infosys and HLL are up 1% each at Rs 540, Rs 161, Rs 1,959 and Rs 197, respectively.

Out of 2,486 stocks traded so far, 1,282 have advanced, 1,125 have declined and 79 are unchanged.
