Sensex down 62pts; L&T, Tata Steel drop 3%

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 62 points at 15,583.

The NSE Nifty is down 24 points at 4,711.

BHEL has slumped 5.7% to Rs 1,940. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Tata Steel have plunged nearly 3% each to Rs 2,939 and Rs 674, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Mahindra & Mahindra have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 805 and Rs 678, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Wipro have slipped around 2% each to Rs 1,292 and Rs 417, respectively. DLF has shed 1.5% at Rs 636.

HDFC, NTPC and ICICI Bank are down around 1% each at Rs 2,355, Rs 195 and Rs 763, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever has rallied over 2% to Rs 234. TCS has gained 1.6% at Rs 824.

Hindalco and Satyam have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 167 and Rs 400, respectively.
