Sensex down 62pts; NTPC surges 2%

The Sensex is now down 62 points at 15,528.

ONGC and Satyam have slipped over 2% each to Rs 832 and Rs 441, respectively.

Hindalco, TCS, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra and Wipro have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 155, Rs 1,061, Rs 1,881, Rs 694 and Rs 471, respectively.

Reliance Communications, ICICI Bank and HDFC are down over 1% each at Rs 538, Rs 908 and Rs 2,106, respectively.

NTPC has surged 2% to Rs 191. ITC has gained 1.6% at Rs 181.

Reliance Energy, ACC and Ambuja Cements are the other notable gainers.
