Sensex down 65pts; cement stocks firm

The Sensex is now down 65 points at 11,757.

Cement stocks continue to hold gains. Gujarat Ambuja has rallied 3.6% to Rs 105. ACC has surged 2% to Rs 879, and Grasim has added 1.4% to Rs 2,155.

ITC and Wipro are the other notable gainers among the Sensex stocks.

Cipla has tumbled 4.4% to Rs 254. Dr.Reddy's has dropped 1.3% to Rs 1,574.

Tata Steel has shed 2.8% to Rs 570. BHEL has plunged 2.7% to Rs 2,195, and Larsen & Toubro is down 1.7% to Rs 2,664.

Tata Power and NTPC are down nearly 2% each at Rs 558 and Rs 127, respectively. Reliance Energy has slipped 1.3% to Rs 579.

Out of 2,090 stocks traded so far, 1,464 have declined, 583 have advanced and 43 are unchanged.
