Sensex down 66pts

The Sensex has slipped into red and is now down 66 points at 10,034.

Updated at 1255 hrs

The Sensex has moved back to higher levels and is now up 39 points at 10,139.

DLF and Tata Motors have rallied over 5% each to Rs 324 and Rs 189, respectively.

Reliance Communications, ONGC and Jaiprakash Associates have surged 3.5% each to Rs 224, Rs 734 and Rs 92, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and Ranbaxy have gained 2.5% each at Rs 635 and Rs 223, respectively.

Satyam has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 166. Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, SBI and Grasim are the other prominent gainers.

 

HDFC and ICICI Bank have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,487 and Rs 462, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever is down 1% at Rs 263.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,278 stocks traded so far, 1,425 have advanced, 780 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
