Sensex down 66pts at 10,016

The Sensex opened almost flat at 10,084, and then took a sharp dip to touch a low of 9959 - down 123 points from its previous close. The index has now recovered some lost ground and is down 66 points at 10,016.

Cipla has soared 8% to Rs 553. Ranbaxy has spurted 2% to Rs 415.

Reliance Energy, too, is up 2% at Rs 607.

Maruti, Tata Motors, BHEL and Grasim are the other notable gainers.

HDFC has dropped 2.7% to Rs 1,309. HDFC Bank has slipped 2.3% to Rs 754.

Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Hindalco, Wipro, Larsen & Toubro, ITC, Dr.Reddy's and HLL have declined 1-2% each.
