Sensex down 66pts; L&T drops 4.5%

The Sensex is now down 66 points at 9819.

Tata Motors has gained nearly 3% at Rs 746. Maruti, Cipla and Grasim have surged 2% each to Rs 742, Rs 214 and Rs 1,788, respectively.

Hindalco, Tata Steel and ACC are up around 1.5% each at Rs 158, Rs 469 and Rs 744, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has dropped 4.5% to Rs 2,022. SBI has declined 3.5% to Rs 742.

Wipro has shed 2.8% to Rs 428, and Bharti Airtel is down 2.6% at Rs 357.

ICICI Bank and HDFC are down 2.3% each at Rs 494 and Rs 1,021, respectively.

Out of 2,176 stocks traded so far, 1,188 have advanced, 930 have declined and 58 are unchanged.
