Sensex down 66pts; L&T gains 2%

The Sensex is now down 66 points at 14,814.

Reliance Energy has shed 2.6% to Rs 595. Ranbaxy has slipped 2% to Rs 360.

NTPC, HDFC, Reliance Communications and Satyam have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 153, Rs 1,950, Rs 534 and Rs 465, respectively.

SBI, Reliance, HDFC Bank and Infosys are down 1% each to Rs 1,546, Rs 1,698, Rs 1,137 and Rs 1,914, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has rallied 2% at Rs 2,335. Maruti, Tata Steel and Tata Motors are the other prominent gainers.

Out of 2,456 stocks traded so far, 1,713 have declined, 695 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
