Sensex down 67pts; Ranbaxy gains 5%

The Sensex is now down 67 points at 9,649. NSE Nifty is now down 19 points at 2,960.

Sterlite has plunged 3% to Rs 265, and HDFC has slipped 2.8% to Rs 1,529.
ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 458 and Rs 1,018, respectively.

Reliance and TCS have declined 1.7% to Rs 1,249 and Rs 482, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Bharti Airtel and Infosys are down 1.5% each to Rs 585, Rs 722 and Rs 1,125, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates, Bharti Airtel and ONGC are the other major losers.

Satyam has surged 5.5% to Rs 160. Ranbaxy has gained 4.6% to Rs 242.

 

Tata Motors is up nearly 3% to Rs 156. Hindalco has advanced 2% to Rs 51.

Tata Power has gained 1.6% to Rs 739. Mahindra & Mahindra has moved up 1.4% to Rs 270.
