Sensex down 6pts; Tata Steel surges 2%

The Sensex is now down six points at 14,448.

Tata Steel has surged over 2% to Rs 641. Bajaj Auto, Hindalco and Gujarat Ambuja have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 2,228, Rs 148 and Rs 118, respectively.

HDFC and BHEL are up 1% each at Rs 1,813 and Rs 2,701, respectively.

Reliance Energy and ONGC have slipped 1% each to Rs 545 and Rs 917, respectively. SBI and ITC are down nearly 1% each to Rs 1,314 and Rs 169, respectively.
