Sensex down 702pts; Rel Comm, BHEL slip 7%

The Sensex is now down 702 points at 15,426.

The NSE Nifty is down 221 points at 4,651.

All Sensex stocks are in negative zone.

Reliance Energy has slumped 7.7% to Rs 1,225. Reliance Communications and BHEL have tumbled around 7% each to Rs 502 and Rs 1,879, respectively.

DLF has shed 6.7% to Rs 665. Hindalco and Tata Steel have plunged 6% each to Rs 180 and Rs 720, respectively.

NTPC has dropped nearly 6% to Rs 183. ICICI Bank and Wipro have slipped around 5.5% each to Rs 830 and Rs 368, respectively.

Reliance and HDFC Bank are down nearly 5% each to Rs 2,263 and Rs 1,301, respectively.

Out of 2,600 stocks traded so far, 2,244 have declined, 335 have advanced and 21 are unchanged.
