Sensex down 72pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now down 72 points to 14,937.

Infosys has plunged 3.6% to Rs 1,946. Satyam and TCS have shed 3% each to Rs 482 and Rs 1,153, respectively.

Ambuja Cements has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 128. Wipro and Maruti have shed 1.5% each to Rs 513 and Rs 802, respectively.

Ranbaxy is down over 1% at Rs 358.

ACC has soared over 3% to Rs 1,070. Reliance Energy has surged 2.8% to Rs 630.

Tata Steel has rallied 2.5% to Rs 650. Hindustan Unilever and Grasim have gained 2% each at Rs 203 and Rs 2,779, respectively.

Out of 2,654 stocks traded so far, 1,420 have advanced, 1,161 have declined and 73 are unchanged.
