Sensex down 72pts; HDFC sheds 3.5%

The Sensex is now down 72 points at 12,382.

HDFC has shed 3.5% to Rs 1,480. Ranbaxy and HLL have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 430 and Rs 250, respectively.

Cipla, Larsen & Toubro, Wipro and Infosys have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 258, Rs 1,253, Rs 518 and Rs 1,822, respectively.

BHEL, ONGC and TCS are the other prominent losers.

Bajaj Auto has gained 1.5% at Rs 3,045. Tata Motors has added 1% to Rs 871.

Reliance Communications, Reliance Energy and Hindalco are the other notable gainers.

Out of 2,443 stocks traded so far, 1,377 have advanced, 999 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
