Sensex down 73pts; breadth fairly -ve

The Sensex is now down 73 points at 12,922.

SBI and Gujarat Ambuja have advanced over 2% each to Rs 1,206 and Rs 133, respectively.

ICICI Bank has moved up 1% to Rs 814. Satyam and Reliance are the other prominent gainers.

Cipla has tumbled 3% to Rs 233. ONGC and Tata Steel have dropped over 2% each to Rs 787 and Rs 431, respectively.

NTPC has shed 1.7% to Rs 134. Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors are down around 1.5% each to Rs 2,493 and Rs 809, respectively.

TCS, HLL, Hindalco and Maruti are down over 1% each.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,069 stocks traded so far, 1,342 have declined, 692 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
