Sensex down 74pts; RIL, HDFC weigh

The Sensex is now down 74 points at 14,004.

Reliance has shed 2.5% to Rs 1,583. Larsen & Toubro has dropped 2% to Rs 1,708.

Satyam and HDFC have slipped 1.8% each to Rs 470 and Rs 1,649, respectively. Bharti Airtel has declined 1.3% to Rs 823.

Hero Honda, Wipro and Maruti are the other prominent losers.

Cipla has surged 2.5% to Rs 217. Hindalco has rallied over 2% to Rs 149.

SBI and ACC have advanced over 1% each to Rs 1,137 and Rs 862, respectively.

Out of 2,575 stocks traded so far, 1,387 have declined, 1,107 have advanced and 81 are unchanged.
