Sensex down 76pts; Dena Bank soars 7%

The Sensex is now down 76 points at 13,689.

TCS has dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,235. ONGC has shed 1.8% to Rs 906.

Bajaj Auto, Cipla, HDFC and BHEL have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 2,492, Rs 208, Rs 1,582 and Rs 2,432.

HLL, Satyam, Infosys and Ranbaxy are down over 1% each at Rs 192, Rs 451, Rs 1,981 and Rs 385, respectively.

SBI has surged 1.7% to Rs 1,100. Hero Honda has gained 1.3% at Rs 689.

Reliance Energy and ITC are the other notable gainers.

Dena Bank has surged nearly 7% to Rs 37, on news that Canara Bank may buy the bank. Meanwhile, Canara Bank is up 1% at Rs 219.

Out of 2,568 stocks traded so far, 1,529 have declined, 929 have advanced and 110 are unchanged.
