Sensex down 76pts; HDFC Bank surges 4%

The Sensex touched a low of 10,274, is now down 76 points at 10,337.

HDFC Bank has surged 3.7% to Rs 768. Cipla has gained 1.5% at Rs 230. Bharti Airtel and Reliance are up 1% each at Rs 369 and Rs 1,016, respectively.

Hindalco and RCoVL have shed 2.5% each to Rs 168 and Rs 247, respectively. Satyam, Tata Motors, Maruti and NTPC are down over 2% each to Rs 690, Rs 758, Rs 758 and Rs 113, respectively.

Out of 2,312 stocks traded so far, 1,675 have declined, 596 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
